Chapter Meetings
The chapter meets on the second Saturday in Owensboro, KY. Guests are always welcome, and you do not have to be a veteran or ride a motorcycle to become a member. . Map >>

Rolling Thunder "Ride for Freedom"
Many people know Rolling Thunder® from the annual demonstration and "Ride for Freedom" to Washington, DC during Memorial Day weekend where an estimated 500,000 motorcycles participate each year. read more
POW/MIA Flag Raisings
The chapter supplies POW/MIA flags ($40 each) to courthouses, fire departments, post offices, veterans memorials, various organizations and interests groups, and organizes flag raising ceremonies promoting public awareness about the POW/MIA issue.
Western KY Veterans Center, Hanson, KY
On Father's Day weekend each year proceeds from the annual poker run are donated to the Western KY Veterans Center. Chapter members adopted the center when it opened and continue to visit the residents for the annual Christmas visit with the residents.
Poker Runs/Fund Raisers
Poker Runs are held during the year to assist hospitalized and disabled veterans. An annual run at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center and others later in the year. POW/MIA product sales add to the proceeds distributed to local veterans agencies throughout the year

In early 2014, Rolling Thunder KY-1 started work on a street sign dedication program, originated by Rolling Thunder NY-3, in the Daviess and Ohio County, Kentucky area. To date, there have been 6 street signs dedicated: four in Ohio County and two in Daviess County, and 6 more pending. The completed sign dedications are: PFC Herman G. Payne, Whitesville, KY, KIA Vietnam; CW2 Kevin R. Killman, Hartford, KY, Killed in the line of Duty in Georgia; LCPL Randell G Trail, Beaver Dam, KY, KIA Vietnam; F3 Shelton Ashby, Centertown, KY, KIA Pearl Harbor, HI; SP5 Charles F Millay, Knottsville, KY, KIA Vietnam; PFC Gary C. Baize, McHenry, KY, KIA Vietnam

Rolling Thunder would like to thank our local town, county and state government officials, as well as local American Legions and high school ROTC organizations for helping make these dedications possible.
